Innovators that Changed Knife Steel

I drove my family all the way out to Bethlehem, PA to film a video about steel history so I hope you watch it. Read about my knife steel history book here: https://knifesteelnerds.com/2023/05/09/new-book-the-story-of-knife-steel-innovators-behind-modern-damascus-and-super-steels/

  1. I bet that was interesting I’ve never been back east but in 10 th grade economics I picked Bethlehem Steel as my stock pick. And theoretically made money. Love your books and all the research you do. . I’m making a 8-1/2 chef knife with magna it.

  2. Thank you for writing such a fascinating book Larrin! The nerd in me loves the information and the history while the kid in me loves the pictures!

  3. This is a GREAT book about knives and the steels used in them. I’m currently reading it for the third time in one year. I pick up something new every time I read it. Dr. Thomas really knows his stuff and explains so the laymen like me can understand it. Great book.

  4. That video hit home. My dad was born in Hazleton, PA and worked for Bethlehem Steel starting in the 50’s and eventually took an early retirement in ’83 after the company took a huge loss. My dad used to bring me home such fun “toys” such as iron ingots, manganese ore, vanadium, and coke. Lol However, I never knew of the company’s ties to HSS and “Industrial Engineering”.
Thanks again for a great video.
